Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Playlist Forge ("we", "us") is a music app that lets you build playlists on
Apple Music and share them with a community. This policy explains what we
collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it minimal on purpose.
What we collect
- Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, we receive a
unique identifier from Apple and, on your first sign-in only, the name you
choose to share. We use these to attribute your posts, comments and
follows, and to send notifications you've enabled. We never receive your
Apple ID password or email address.
- Content you create. Playlists you post, songs you add,
comments, likes, votes, follows, and reports. Each shared song stores its
title, artist, artwork URL, and an ISRC identifier so it can be matched on
a music service.
- Push token. If you allow notifications, we store your
device's Apple Push Notification token to deliver them. You can turn
notifications off any time in iOS Settings.
- Apple Music. The app uses Apple's MusicKit on your
device to read your library and recently-played tracks and to save
playlists. This happens through Apple; we do not receive your Apple Music
account or listening history except the specific songs you choose to
share or the recent-plays shown only to you on your Profile.
What we don't collect
No email address, no password, no precise location, no advertising
identifiers, and no third-party tracking. We do not sell your data.
Service providers
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, MusicKit, and Apple Push
Notification service.
- Cloudflare — hosting and the database that stores the
community content above.
- Last.fm — we send an artist's name to look up similar
artists when you build a playlist. No personal data is sent.
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time
in the app: Profile → Delete account. This removes your
playlists, comments, likes, votes, follows, and push registration. You may
also email us to request deletion.
Children
Playlist Forge is not directed to children under 13, and we do not
knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the date
above.
